Job Summary
Senior Engineering Manager for the Card Readers team leading multiple SAF/SaaS-focused hardware–software integration initiatives. Drive delivery across teams handling hardware integrations, SDKs, EMV certification, and modern payment solutions (tap-to-phone, SPoC/CPoC) while coaching and growing engineering leads, collaborating with PMs and vendors, ensuring end-to-end product quality, and championing AI-enabled development within a hybrid in-office two days per week setup.
Required Qualifications
- Experience writing, delivering, and operating software in a SaaS environment
- 3-5+ years mentoring and growing successful engineering teams
- Payments background essential, ideally with Hardware, EMV and/or Firmware building experience, on an Android environment
- Proven expertise to wade through complexity and create clear working solutions in coordination with partners on product, QA, operations and stakeholders across multiple teams
- Lead technical roadmap initiatives for contactless, contact EMV, and magnetic stripe technologies, while pioneering modern payment solutions like tap-to-phone and SPoC/CPoC
- Work alongside Hardware Engineering to define future reader architectures, optimize component choices, and oversee manufacturing testing phases
- Oversee the lifecycle of PCI PTS certifications, maintaining close alignment with QSAs and accredited payment laboratories
- Partner across Payments Platform, POS, and external partner organizations to ensure cohesive and frictionless integrations
- A bias towards action, with the ability to balance between getting things done and making things perfect
- A want to continuously grow knowledge and push for industry defining designs
- A strong sense of empathy for customers and teammates
