Senior Engineering Manager, Portfolio Accounting

Job Summary
Lead and grow multiple engineering teams responsible for delivering a fast, AI-enhanced Portfolio Accounting platform. Drive architectural direction, code reviews, and high-quality implementations across front-end and back-end tech stacks in a cloud environment (AWS). Partner with strategy, product, design, and quality engineering to align engineering deliverables with business outcomes. Coach senior ICs and emerging leaders, manage performance, and promote a collaborative, inclusive culture while maintaining rigorous delivery through Agile and Kanban practices. Ensure close collaboration across multi-location teams and stakeholders, owning roadmap progress, risks, and tradeoffs. This role emphasizes leadership in a fintech/accounting context, advancing enterprise applications and cost-efficient cloud architecture while maintaining a strong focus on innovation and operational excellence.
Required Qualifications
- 8+ years in hands-on software engineering management or similar function
- Experience in Accounting, Finance, or Fintech industries
- Ability to own and deliver complex, cross-team initiatives in a fast-paced environment
- Degree in Computer Science, Information Science, or a related discipline, or equivalent practical experience
- Demonstrated ability to lead and grow other leaders (engineering managers and senior ICs)
- Strong knowledge of data structures, algorithms, distributed systems, and architectural patterns
- Ability to balance short-term delivery with big-picture goals
- Track record of driving innovation in teams (process improvements, automation, or responsible use of AI)
- Excellent communication skills and ability to influence senior leaders and cross-functional partners
- Experience leading product engineering teams with a customer-first mindset
- Experience with cloud technologies (AWS) and back-end infrastructure design
- Familiarity with agile development methodologies (Scrum/Kanban)
