Job Summary
Senior Engineering Manager, Platform Infrastructure Engineering leads a senior PIE team responsible for the horizontal foundation used by all engineering groups. Own the platform roadmap across cloud infrastructure, SRE, developer experience, security, and architecture standards; drive multi-cloud strategy (AWS, GCP, Azure) and data center migrations defined as Infrastructure-as-Code; oversee the observability stack end-to-end (monitoring, alerting, tracing, on-call) and establish SLO-driven reliability; enhance developer experience through tooling, CI/CD, and streamlined release workflows; collaborate with Security to embed secure-by-default patterns; act as a force multiplier for product engineering by enabling faster, safer software delivery; position the platform for the AI era with LLM-powered products and AI-assisted engineering workflows; foster ownership, curiosity, and collaboration across the organization.
Required Qualifications
- 8-10+ years of software development experience with deep hands-on background in infrastructure, platform, or site reliability engineering
- 5+ years of experience leading engineering teams including hiring, coaching, performance management, and growing senior engineers
- Hands-on expertise across the platform stack: networking and traffic management, compute orchestration (Kubernetes), datastores, Infrastructure-as-Code (Terraform, Pulumi, or similar), and observability tooling
- Expertise with modern cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, and/or Azure) and cloud-native architectures at scale
- Track record of running platform teams as force multipliers—velocity, reliability, and adoption across other teams
- Proven technical leadership—architectural and strategic decisions with close code involvement
- Excellent communication skills with ability to influence cross-functional stakeholders and executive leadership
