Job Summary
Senior Engineering Manager for Datavant’s Payer Routing and Retrieval platform. Lead and scale engineering teams responsible for routing, decisioning, and retrieval workflows that match members to providers across digital and operational channels. Define and execute the technical and organizational vision, drive enterprise-grade practices for reliability, security, and healthcare compliance, and partner with Product, Design, and Implementation teams to deliver mission-critical SaaS solutions that improve healthcare outcomes. Responsibilities include mentoring teams, establishing observability and incident management, ensuring architectural alignment and reusable platform investments, and fostering a culture of technical excellence, accountability, and continuous improvement. Qualifications emphasize 10+ years in software engineering, 6–8+ years in management, experience with enterprise B2B SaaS in regulated industries, and a track record of scalable platforms, quality frameworks, and cross-functional collaboration. Required Qualifications
- 10+ years of software engineering experience
- 6–8+ years in engineering management leading multiple teams
- Proven track record scaling enterprise-grade B2B SaaS platforms in regulated industries (healthcare or financial services strongly preferred)
- Experience building foundational platforms and APIs that support multiple products or customer use cases
- Deep understanding of systems design for scale, including multi-tenancy, cost optimization, observability, and operational excellence
- Demonstrated success in elevating engineering maturity, implementing quality frameworks, compliance processes, and continuous improvement systems
- Strong cross-functional collaboration skills with Product, Design, and GTM partners
- Deep mission alignment with Datavant’s purpose of improving healthcare through secure, compliant, and scalable data exchange
- Leadership qualities and mindset indicating strategic thinking, mentorship, accountability, and data privacy and security focus
