Job Summary
Senior Engineering Manager / Principal Engineer – Platform Modernization responsible for leading a hands-on, high-impact AI-enabled engineering effort. Decompose and modernize core platform domains by migrating legacy .NET monoliths to event-driven microservices on Azure, guiding a ~10-person principal-level engineering team, conducting effective 1:1s and career growth, maintaining delivery visibility, and coordinating with senior leadership. Drive team health, hiring and onboarding in collaboration with the Senior Director, uphold program standards (paved road architecture, AI development practices, Terraform IaC, event schema governance), and contribute directly to delivery through code reviews, tooling, documentation, or implementation support. Comfortable in a remote, distributed environment with autonomy; remote work options available. Location: Mexico.
Required Qualifications
- 5+ years engineering experience
- at least 2 years in an engineering management role
- experience managing senior engineers
- strong program coordination skills
- enough technical depth to understand and contribute hands-on
- clear communication between engineering teams and senior leadership
- comfortable in a remote, distributed environment with high autonomy
