Job Summary
Senior Engineering Manager (Contract) leads a high-performing engineering organization across frontend and backend teams, coaching engineers, setting architecture and engineering standards, driving delivery reliability, and advancing AI-enabled coding practices. The role focuses on building and guiding a distributed team delivering B2B/SaaS and ecommerce projects, with hands-on contribution to critical work, ownership of delivery cycles, and cross-functional collaboration with design, product, and client-facing teams. Location is remote with overlap to US Central Time, and the engagement is as an independent contractor based in Latin America.
Required Qualifications
- 4+ years in senior engineering leadership or management
- 8+ years building production software across multiple stacks and languages
- Strong full-stack technical judgment
- Experience delivering B2B/SaaS and eCommerce builds
- Agency experience leading delivery across multiple clients/projects
- Independent contractor experience
- Proven coaching ability for engineers
- Strong architecture and system-design judgment
- High-quality code standards with testing and reviews
- Experience planning delivery cycles and managing concurrent workstreams
- Excellent professional English (spoken/written)
- Remote collaboration skills with US Central Time overlap
- Based in Latin America and able to work as an independent contractor
- Practical, fluent use of AI coding tools and agents
