Job Summary
Senior Engineering Manager leads a product engineering team responsible for our core user workflow and data orchestration platform. Own end-to-end engineering execution — roadmap sequencing with Product, project scoping, timeline accountability, and cross-functional progress communication. Serve as the connective tissue between Product and Engineering to ensure the right work is built in the right order. Drive engineering hiring end-to-end including headcount planning, job descriptions, interview loops, and closing. Responsibilities include building and developing the team, owning delivery across core product, integrations, and platform, removing friction to accelerate delivery, collaborating with Product and Design to triage and sequence work, and owning on-call and post-mortems to improve reliability. Requires 10+ years in software, 5+ years as an IC and as an Engineering Manager, 5+ years managing teams, and experience at seed/early-stage startups or growing teams; preferred experience with enterprise/B2B APIs, fintech APIs, data-intensive platforms, AI tooling, and the listed tech stack.
Required Qualifications
- 10+ years in software engineering, including time as IC and as an Engineering Manager
- 5+ years as an individual contributor engineer with shipping high-complexity systems
- 5+ years managing engineering teams with similar scope
- experience at an early-stage startup (Series B or earlier) or small team growth
- experience building software for enterprise customers and B2B platforms
- experience with APIs, fintech APIs (Plaid, Stripe, etc), data-intensive data orchestration
- experience with AI prompting, models, and tools
- experience with stack: Golang, Postgres, AWS, Protobuf, gRPC, Redis, GitHub Actions, Containerization, Terraform; frontend: React, Node, Fastify, MUI, React Query, Vite, Storybook, Playwright
- strong cross-functional collaboration with Product, Design, GTM
- player-coach leadership style, ability to unblock hard problems
- strong focus on reliability, incident management, and on-call processes
