Senior Engineering Manager, Data Platform

$249,000–$299,000 year

On-siteLos Angeles, California, United States or Torrance, California, United States

Full TimeSenior LevelSmall

Job Summary

Build and lead the data platform team that powers Hadrian's autonomous factories, transforming raw inputs from CNC machines, PLCs, and engineering files into trusted datasets for scheduling, analytics, and ML. Own the roadmap for ingestion, CDC, event streaming, and the warehouse/lakehouse stack, turning ambiguous needs into clear priorities and paved roads for other engineering teams. Raise the operational bar for reliability, data-quality SLAs, and incident response while partnering on architecture for Snowflake, Iceberg, and orchestration. Hire and grow exceptional engineers, setting clear performance bars and delegating real ownership to build a team capable of scaling across multiple manufacturing facilities.

Required Qualifications

  • 5+ years of management experience in manufacturing, semiconductors, hardware, robotics, autonomy, industrial systems, test/measurement, or edge computing, especially where the data platform had to bridge software with physical systems
  • Experience with heterogeneous data beyond application tables: telemetry, events, files, device identity, timestamps and clock drift, units, provenance, schema drift, deletes, late or out-of-order data, partial records, retries, and backfills
  • Experience taking a data or infrastructure platform from an early working system to a broadly adopted internal product used by many teams
  • Experience operating in security-sensitive or regulated environments such as aerospace, defense, FedRAMP, CMMC, or other environments where data governance and access control are part of the architecture
  • A track record of building strong hiring and onboarding systems and helping senior engineers become effective technical leads, Staff+ engineers, or future managers
  • U.S. citizen, lawful permanent resident of the U.S., protected individual as defined by 8 U.S.C. 1324b(a)(3), or eligible to obtain the required authorizations from the U.S. Department of State

Desired Qualifications

  • Backgrounds from companies such as NVIDIA, AMD, Intel, Xilinx, Altera, Qualcomm, Applied Materials, Lam Research, Tesla, Anduril, Shield AI, or similar environments
