Job Summary
Senior Engineering Manager to lead the Engineering team, overseeing the eCommerce and Supplier teams, responsible for the Shops product, ecommerce integrations, and supplier integration partnerships. Shape product strategy with Product Management and Design, champion Agile practices, drive cross-functional project delivery, provide technical leadership, and cultivate a high-performing engineering culture. Key focus on building scalable systems, aligning technical initiatives with business goals over a 12-18 month horizon, coaching and mentoring engineers, and ensuring clear communication across teams to connect work to customer impact. Location-based in Toronto (Canada) with a remote-first approach and in-person travel opportunities.
Required Qualifications
- 8+ years of experience in software engineering
- 3+ years of experience managing engineers (including hiring, onboarding, performance management, and career development)
- Experience partnering with Product and Design teams to shape roadmaps and deliver customer-centric features
- Strong technical background in system design, architecture, and modern development practices
- Demonstrated ability to lead complex, cross-functional projects from concept to delivery
- Strong understanding of Agile principles and experience evangelizing them
- Ability to build and scale engineering processes that support team health, delivery speed, and code quality
- Excellent communication skills with both technical and non-technical stakeholders
- Customer-first mindset and strategic thinking
- Ability to work independently and asynchronously while collaborating with others
- Experience leveraging AI coding tools and workflows, with best practices for engineering teams
- Bonus: DevOps tools/practices experience; Generative AI experience applying it to customer problems
