Senior Engineering Manager Ads Backend

Job Summary
Lead the Ads Backend team responsible for SSAI: own the technical vision and architecture of the SSAI platform, contribute hands-on as technical lead, review designs, and drive end-to-end development and operational excellence for revenue-impacting services. Collaborate with Ingest & Storage, Streaming & CDN, and Playback teams, shape the technical direction of Zattoo’s video platform, and lead hiring for 2–4 engineers. The role focuses on leading the SSAI stack, guiding architecture, and hands-on engineering leadership across a cross-team initiative in a video/video-ad tech context.
Required Qualifications
- 5+ years leading engineering teams
- Strong hands-on engineering: design, build, review production code; act as technical lead
- Proficient in C++/Go
- Experience building highly available services and APIs that scale
- Experience with distributed systems, event-driven architectures and message queues (e.g. Kafka)
- Experience with non-relational databases (e.g. Scylla)
- Testing as a fundamental part of software development
- Fluent English, written and verbal
- Experience with advertising technology platforms, ad serving, and dynamic ad insertion (DAI/SSAI)
- Broad experience across the video pipeline (ingest, transcoding, packaging, DRM, streaming, playback)
