Job Summary
Senior Engineering Manager expected to own the manufacturing engineering function at a high-volume site, leading a hands-on, mechanically minded engineering team to deliver step-change improvements in yield, productivity, quality, and cost. Responsibilities include setting engineering strategy, enabling site leadership decision-making, coaching and developing engineers, providing real-time engineering support on the production floor, driving structured problem-solving (root cause, CAPA, lean methodologies), supporting new product introductions, managing cross-functional partnerships, and overseeing budgeting and capital planning. The role emphasizes strong leadership in a manual, production-driven environment, with accountability to the Site Leadership Team for site-wide performance and transformation initiatives. Key qualifications include NFQ Level 7 equivalent degree, 9+ years in manufacturing engineering with leadership experience, experience with regulated environments (FDA/ISO), and a proven track record in driving performance improvements and change management.
Required Qualifications
- NFQ Level 7 qualification in Mechanical/Manufacturing or related Engineering discipline
- 9+ years in manufacturing engineering
- leadership roles within high-volume, operational environments
- experience in process development, equipment optimization, and validation
- knowledge of regulated environments (FDA, ISO or similar)
- strong mechanical engineering aptitude
- problem-solving capability (root cause, CAPA, data-driven decisions)
- ability to lead in a people-intensive, less automated environment
- ability to influence at executive Stakeholder levels
- budgeting and capital planning experience
