Job Summary
Senior Engineering Manager responsible for overseeing operations engineering at manufacturing site(s), ensuring products are manufactured consistently to Abbott quality standards, and leading end-to-end project management. The role drives performance and continuous improvement of automated lines/processes, manages cross-functional collaboration with R&D, Quality, Regulatory, and other departments, ensures compliance with FDA/GMP/QMS/EMS, and leads budgeting, talent development, and strategic planning to optimize manufacturing efficiency and cost-effectiveness.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering, science, or closely related discipline (or equivalent technical experience)
- Minimum 8 years of significant engineering, project management, and/or operational experience
- Extensive experience managing operations engineering activities at a manufacturing site, preferably in a highly regulated industry
- Proven track record of leading large-scale, automated manufacturing lines with a focus on performance and continuous improvement
- Experience in team management including hiring, development, and succession planning for a diverse engineering workforce
- Leadership ability to build, manage, and develop high-performing engineering teams
- Strong knowledge of FDA, GMP, Environmental Health & Safety regulations, and Quality Management Systems (QMS) and EMS
- Ability to present and gain buy-in from upper management for major programs
- Technical background in healthcare, nutritional products, laboratory diagnostics, medical devices, or pharmaceutical companies
