Job Summary
Conduct detailed mechanical utilities engineering assignments involving calculations, design elements, and routine testing with minimal supervision. Independently develop comprehensive technical documentation, including design calculations and engineering reports, while ensuring compliance with ASME, ANSI, and local building codes. Propose solutions to new problems using modified standard procedures and implement corrective actions for identified discrepancies. Provide guidance and mentoring to entry-level engineers on technical concepts and best practices. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to optimize system performance, participate in project planning, and conduct quality assurance reviews to verify design integrity.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related engineering discipline
- Minimum 10-15 years of professional engineering experience in mechanical utilities or related systems
- Proficiency in engineering calculations, design software, and CAD applications
- Strong knowledge of mechanical codes, standards, and regulatory requirements (ASME, ANSI, local building codes)
- Demonstrated experience developing technical documentation, design calculations, and engineering reports
- Solid understanding of mechanical utility systems design, installation, and operation
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with ability to identify and implement corrective actions
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks within budget and schedule constraints
- Experience collaborating with cross-functional teams in a professional engineering environment
Desired Qualifications
- Professional Engineer (PE) license or eligibility for licensure
- Experience mentoring or providing technical guidance to junior engineers
- Familiarity with quality assurance protocols and testing methodologies
- Background in process improvement and system optimization
