Job Summary
Senior Engineer - Tailings Planning & Projects responsible for life of asset and mid-range tailings construction planning and projects for the Highland tailings storage facility at Highland Valley Copper. Role involves liaising with the Engineer of Record and stakeholders to drive construction success, leading QA/QC for dam construction activities, managing multiple internal and external teams, developing medium- and long-range plans and budgets, providing geotechnical support, coordinating permits, and delivering field and office activities with a safety-first mindset.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil, Geological/Geotechnical, Mining Engineering or similar
- Registered, or eligible to register, with Engineers and Geoscientists British Columbia (EGBC) as a P. Eng.
- Previous mine planning or construction planning experience, minimum 5 years
- Experience reading and understanding technical drawings
- Understanding of planning and scheduling principles and procedures
- Computer skills including Microsoft Office, Maximo, AutoCAD or CAD related programs
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Valid driver’s license
