Job Summary
Senior Systems Engineer responsible for understanding system-level requirements, architecting and evaluating feasibility of components/features, and coordinating across Electrical, Firmware, Software, Mechanical, and R&D teams to define architectures for current and future products. Responsibilities include guiding requirements with Marketing/PM, performing tradeoff analyses, conducting feasibility studies, documenting work for knowledge transfer, and mentoring junior engineers. The role emphasizes hands-on expertise in digital logic, analog circuits, power subsystems, hardware debugging with real-time embedded code, and collaboration across cross-functional groups. The position requires a Bachelor’s in Electrical/Electronics/Biomedical Engineering (Master’s/PhD preferred), 3–5 years (7+ years favorable in medical device contexts), and proficiency in embedded development, FPGA/DSP/RC control systems, and scripting/coding tools (C/C++, Python, MATLAB), with experience in Class III medical device standards (IEC 60801) and relevant design tools. A hybrid work model is offered in Valencia, CA.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical, Electronics, or Biomedical Engineering
- 3–5 years of experience in analog and digital circuits, FPGA platforms, embedded systems, DSP, RF, control systems, or integrated circuits
- 7+ years of experience and prior medical device industry experience considered a plus
- Strong collaboration, communication, and leadership skills
- Experience with embedded development on ASICs, test automation using Python, datasheet interpretation, reliability and verification engineering, and Class III medical device standards (IEC 60801 and related requirements)
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office, circuit simulation and modeling tools (e.g., SPICE), and coding/scripting tools such as C, C++, LabVIEW, and Python
- Experience with FPGA design tools (Xilinx Vivado, Altera Quartus), embedded software development environments (Arduino, MPLAB, Keil, Eclipse), and data analysis and visualization tools including MATLAB, Tableau, Python
- Internet connectivity requirements for remote/hybrid work (200Mb/sec down, 10Mb/sec up)
