Senior Engineer, Systems Engineering - Salesforce DevOps

Job Summary
Own and manage the complete Salesforce DevOps lifecycle across multiple environments, planning releases, deployment schedules, and rollback strategies. Design, implement, and maintain CI/CD pipelines using Copado, Jenkins, and GitHub Actions to automate build, testing, and deployment processes. Manage Git repositories and branching strategies, handling pull requests, merge approvals, and conflict resolution to ensure source-driven development discipline. Coordinate metadata promotion across Development, QA, UAT, and Production environments while maintaining integrity and readiness. Analyze and resolve recurring deployment issues involving Apex, metadata, profiles, and integrations by partnering with developers, architects, and QA teams to drive root cause analysis and prevent defects. Support developers in following Salesforce development best practices and review deployment impacts across components as needed.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field (or equivalent)
- 5–8 years of experience on the Salesforce platform, with a focus on DevOps, release management, and CI/CD implementation
- Mandatory experience in Salesforce metadata deployments
- Hands-on experience with Salesforce DX
- Hands-on experience with Salesforce CLI
- Hands-on experience with Metadata API
- Hands-on experience with source-driven Salesforce development/deployment models
- Strong working knowledge of CI/CD tools (e.g., Copado, Jenkins, GitLab, Azure DevOps)
- Strong working knowledge of version control systems (GitHub, Bitbucket)
- Deep understanding of sandbox strategy
- Deep understanding of source-driven development
- Deep understanding of branching strategies
- Deep understanding of release governance
- Familiarity with Salesforce deployment models, including Change Sets, Unlocked/Managed Packages, and Metadata deployments
- Proven experience with Copado DevOps platform
- Strong understanding of Salesforce deployment strategies

- Knowledge of system architecture, application design, integration patterns, debugging techniques, version control, and deployment approaches
- Knowledge of performance engineering, reliability, scalability, secure design, and operational resilience concepts
