Job Summary
Senior Engineer Supervisor, Geotechnical role reporting to the Superintendent Geotechnical, responsible for managing the Mine Geotechnical program at Highland Valley Copper, including open-pit geotechnical design and implementation, slope monitoring, dewatering/installations, coordination with external consultants, and leadership of geotechnical engineers in a safety-driven, collaborative environment. Requires strong project management, communication, and the ability to supervise field and office activities across Teck sites; prior experience in open pit geotechnical engineering and risk mitigation is essential.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Geological or Geotechnical Engineering
- Registered, or eligible to register, with Engineers and Geoscientists British Columbia (EGBC) as a P. Eng.
- Minimum ten (10) years mining industry experience, including geotechnical experience in an open pit environment
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite® and relevant geotechnical software, such as GeoExplorer, Vulcan, AutoCAD, Slide, Dips, Swedge, RocFall, and Phase2/RS2 an asset
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Valid driver’s license
