Job Summary
Conduct material characterization testing and microstructural analysis using microscopy, SEM/EDX, micro-CT, DSC, and metallography to evaluate material performance. Analyze test data, interpret results, and prepare technical reports summarizing findings for product development teams. Support engineering functions by developing test methods, protocols, and work instructions while maintaining design controls and quality system documentation. Collaborate with cross-functional teams including R&D, Quality, and Manufacturing to address evolving product needs and regulatory requirements.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering, Materials Science, or a related technical field
- Minimum 2 years of professional experience in engineering, materials science, materials characterization, or a related technical discipline
Desired Qualifications
- Experience conducting materials testing and analyzing technical data
- Experience preparing technical reports and engineering documentation
- Experience with microscopy, SEM/EDX, micro-CT, DSC, metallography, or similar materials characterization techniques
- Knowledge of materials science principles related to metals, polymers, and manufacturing methods
- Experience using statistical analysis methods and engineering analysis tools
- Experience reading and interpreting engineering drawings and specifications
