Job Summary
Proactively resolve customer issues by acting as the "Voice of the Customer" during discussions impacting product quality. Facilitate structured problem-solving tools for root-cause investigations and corrective actions while analyzing returns to generate 8D reports and continuous improvement summaries. Interpret SEM/TEM images and EDX data to solve electrical and defect problems, and evaluate non-conforming materials for risk assessment and disposition. Collaborate with cross-functional teams, suppliers, and internal fabs to drive quality improvements and ensure expedited closure of complex product and process issues. Perform audits of key suppliers and actively participate in customer and certification authority audits. Train and mentor engineers on core tools including SPC, FMEA, and MSA.
Required Qualifications
- Master's degree in Process/Microelectronic Engineering, Electrical Engineering or related field with 3+ years relevant experience
- Bachelor's degree with 5+ years relevant experience
- Experience in semiconductor industry functional areas like Quality, Process, Product or Yield engineering
- Strong technical knowledge of semiconductor manufacturing processes including CMOS and Bipolar device technologies with experience in process and device related defect characterization and failure mechanisms
- Outstanding communication skills in difficult/diverse situations
- Level-headed and articulate to handle interactions with executive management, key customers and process auditors
- Excellent project planning, scheduling, documentation, training and coordination
- Strong attention to detail and root cause analysis
- Confident in personal technical expertise
- Self-driven/tenacious to acquire knowledge as situations dictate
- Ability to work in a Clean Room Environment
- Excellent knowledge of problem-solving tools like 8D, DMAIC, 5-Why, Fishbone analysis, etc.
- Must be available for international travel
- Must be able to engage with customers on both technical and inter-personal levels
- Must be able to collaborate with product, process, design, failure analysis and reliability engineering organizations
- Must be able to work with counterparts across the internal fabs
- Must be able to perform audits of key suppliers, typically within the USA
- Must be able to actively participate in audits from customers and certification authorities
- Must be able to convey the capability and responsiveness of ADI to customer requirements
- Must be able to drive quality improvements & implementation of quality management system (QMS)
- Must be able to share results, best practices, and provide comparable data
- Must be able to respond with 8D reports and continuous improvement summaries
- Must be able to evaluate non-conforming material and support risk assessment and disposition of the material
- Must be able to write/update quality and operational specifications
- Must be able to facilitate the use of structured problem-solving tools in root-cause investigation and corrective action identification
- Must be able to lead and/or collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure expedited closure of complex product and process quality issues from initiation to closure
- Must be able to collaborate with procurement and supplier management teams to drive continuous improvement and corrective actions at suppliers as required
- Must be able to train and mentor other quality or process/equipment engineers on core tools including SPC, FMEA and MSA
- Must be able to act as the Voice of the Customer during discussions that could impact product quality
- Must be able to interface with internal and external customers regarding field returns or other customer-related concerns
- Must be able to proactively involve in the resolution of customer issues
- Must be able to interpret SEM/TEM images and EDX data to solve electrical and defect problems
- Must be able to handle weekend shifts
- Must be able to handle 1st Shift/Days
- Must be able to handle 10% of the time travel

Desired Qualifications
- Good knowledge of Quality Management System (QMS) in high volume semiconductor manufacturing environment
- Understanding of risk management using FMEA and Control Plan tools
- Quality certifications like ASQ Six Sigma Green Belt or Black Belt, CQE, etc.
- Familiarity with industry quality standards like IATF16949/ISO9001
