Senior Engineer - Process & Packaging Systems

Job Summary
Senior Engineer leads process optimization, troubleshooting, and system improvement initiatives across operations, manufacturing, pilot plant, and capital project environments. Applies advanced and diverse engineering principles to design and implement major system modifications and capital projects; develops, analyzes, and presents technical interpretations for complex operational issues; provides technical leadership and cross-functional coordination. Executes complex or novel engineering assignments, develops policies affecting multiple units, supervises engineers and technicians, and collaborates with Research, Manufacturing, Process Development, Utilities, Facilities, Quality Assurance, Validation, and Project Managers to deliver engineering projects within scope, schedule, budget, and quality. Requires working knowledge of pharmaceutical/biotech processes, validation documentation, ability to interpret GLPs/GMPs, and expertise across multiple engineering areas; proficient in technical reporting, presentations, and cross-functional communication in English and Spanish. Benefits include a 1-year contract with potential extension; non-standard shift; location in Juncos, Puerto Rico.
Required Qualifications
- Doctorate OR Master’s + 2 years of engineering experience OR Bachelor’s in Engineering + 4 years of engineering experience
- Fully bilingual (English/Spanish)
- Experience managing contractors and vendors
- Experience in schedule development, facilitation, and project follow-up
- Experience building, modifying, and approving engineering drawings using AutoCAD, Adobe Illustrator, SolidWorks, or similar tools
- Strong organizational, project management, and technical problem-solving skills
- GMP and GDP understanding
- Packaging or Materials Science background is a plus
