Job Summary
Senior Platform Engineer at Trainline (Atlas team) delivering scalable, reliable, and secure infrastructure across the Trainline platform. You will implement and evolve infrastructure changes using Terraform within AWS, apply least-privilege security principles, and build automation using Node.js or Python. You’ll support and review work of mid-level engineers, collaborate with Tech Leads and cross-functional stakeholders, identify risks and blockers early, and ensure changes are tested and deployed through CI/CD pipelines. The role requires experience with AWS services (e.g., ECS, Lambda, IAM, CloudFront), a practical approach to secure cloud design, and a track record of delivering outcomes in agile, delivery-focused teams. The position operates in a hybrid model with a preference for in-office work at London/Greater London.
Required Qualifications
- Strong experience with AWS services (ECS, Lambda, IAM, CloudFront)
- Proven experience delivering infrastructure changes using Terraform
- Ability to work independently on complex platform engineering problems
- Experience with Node.js or Python for automation
- Understanding of secure cloud design including least privilege and service-to-service authentication
- Experience with agile delivery teams
- Familiarity with multi-account or multi-region AWS management (beneficial)
- Experience with CI/CD pipelines
- Experience with automation and tooling
- Ability to collaborate with Tech Leads and cross-functional stakeholders
