Job Summary
Senior Platform Services Engineer responsible for designing, building, and supporting shared platform services across Azure/Kubernetes, IaC with Terraform, CI/CD workflows, and developer self-service tooling. Emphasizes platform reliability, observability, automation, and governance. Responsibilities include platform architecture, service reliability, automation, Terraform modules, GitHub Actions, documentation, incident response, cost optimization, and mentoring engineers. Strong expertise in Azure, Kubernetes, Terraform, GitHub ecosystem; scripting in PowerShell, Bash, Python; strong communication across software engineering, infrastructure, security, operations, and enterprise architecture.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, or equivalent practical experience
- 7+ years of experience in platform engineering, cloud infrastructure, DevOps, Site Reliability Engineering (SRE), systems engineering, or related technical roles
- Experience designing, building, and operating cloud platforms within Azure or comparable enterprise cloud environments
- Strong scripting and automation experience using PowerShell, Bash, Python, or similar languages
- Strong systems thinking with the ability to balance reliability, scalability, security, governance, cost, and developer experience
- Ability to communicate technical concepts effectively across engineering, architecture, security, operations, and business stakeholders
- Demonstrated ownership, accountability, and collaboration within complex enterprise environments
- Ability to influence technical direction, platform standards, and engineering best practices without formal authority
- Cloud & Platform Technologies Experience with Kubernetes, containerized platforms, managed runtimes, or enterprise hosting environments
- Hands-on experience with infrastructure-as-code tools, preferably Terraform
- Working knowledge of Azure services such as: AKS Azure Container Registry Azure Key Vault Azure Monitor Azure Policy Azure networking and managed identities
- Understanding of platform security principles, including identity, access management, secrets management, and policy-driven governance
- Observability & Automation Experience with monitoring, logging, tracing, alerting, dashboards, and incident analysis
- Experience building CI/CD automation using GitHub Actions or similar pipeline technologies
- Experience supporting enterprise source control platforms, including repository governance, branching strategies, and workflow standards
- Ability to create clear technical documentation, standards, and operational runbooks
