Senior Engineer - NPI and Engineering

Job Summary
Evaluate customer product requirements for technical feasibility, manufacturability, and production readiness during the RFQ stage. Review and analyze technical documentation including BOMs, Gerber files, schematics, and assembly drawings to identify manufacturing risks and recommend design improvements. Assess feasibility for SMT, THT, and mixed technology PCB assemblies, performing DFM and DFA assessments while collaborating with Manufacturing Engineering to optimize production efficiency. Support the transition from RFQ to NPI by participating in prototype builds, validating engineering changes, and ensuring production readiness prior to mass production. Coordinate with Sales, Program Management, and Supply Chain teams to provide technically sound solutions across Automotive, Aerospace, Defense, Medical, and Industrial segments.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Electronics & Communication Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Instrumentation Engineering, or equivalent
- 4–8 years of experience in Electronics Manufacturing Services (EMS) or PCB Assembly environment
- Experience supporting technical RFQs and NPI activities
- Strong Knowledge Of PCB fabrication and PCB assembly processes
- Strong Knowledge Of SMT, THT, Reflow Soldering, and Wave Soldering
- Strong Knowledge Of Gerber interpretation and PCB design fundamentals
- Strong Knowledge Of Electronic components, packaging technologies, and assembly methods
- Good Understanding Of IPC Standards (IPC-A-610, IPC-2221, IPC-7711/7721 preferred)
- Good Understanding Of Design for Manufacturability (DFM)
- Good Understanding Of Design for Assembly (DFA)
- Good Understanding Of Manufacturing process capability and quality requirements
- CAD tools such as Altium Designer, OrCAD, or equivalent
- Gerber viewers and PCB analysis tools
- PLM and ERP systems
- Microsoft Excel and engineering documentation tools
- Hands-on experience supporting Automotive Electronics projects within an EMS environment
Desired Qualifications
- Experience in engineering change management (ECN/ECO)
- Familiarity with DFMEA, PFMEA, Control Plans, and APQP is an added advantage
- Exposure to IPC certification is desirable
- Knowledge of Electronics Manufacturing processes and Lean manufacturing practices
- Understanding of process engineering and production optimization
