Senior Engineer, Microsoft 365 - Exchange Online

Senior Engineer leading the administration, optimization, and continuous improvement of Exchange Online and related Microsoft 365 messaging services to deliver secure, resilient, and scalable communications. Design and manage mail flow, connectors, transport rules, and routing patterns in alignment with best practices for enterprise messaging and service reliability. Drive platform improvements across Exchange Online, Outlook, Teams, and adjacent collaboration services to improve end-user productivity, service health, and operational efficiency. Develop technical standards, operational documentation, and transition guidance to improve support readiness and knowledge transfer. Provide technical leadership for escalated incidents and service-improvement efforts, focusing on reducing disruption and strengthening platform stability. Design self-healing, automated workflows using PowerShell and Microsoft Graph API to streamline administration, reporting, remediation, and lifecycle management. Collaborate with security, compliance, and legal teams to implement governance, retention, eDiscovery, and protection capabilities that support secure collaboration and policy requirements. Support Microsoft 365 Copilot readiness across platforms by improving data hygiene, permissions awareness, and governance. Analyze usage trends and partner with user-experience/adoption teams to maximize ROI. Lead the adoption of new capabilities like Microsoft 365 Copilot and mentor junior engineers as a key innovator on the team.
