Job Summary
Senior Mechanical Engineer responsible for leading mechanical design initiatives for MGSE and aerospace structural design, overseeing MGSE performance, resolving mechanical NCs via RCCA investigations, and guiding manufacturing efficiency improvements. Acts as technical owner for MGSE and 3D measurement processes, provides guidance on FAL workstations and GSE, collaborates with Quality/Configuration/Design teams, mentors peers, and ensures design-to-manufacturing principles are applied throughout product development. Strong emphasis on CAD (SolidWorks), aerospace manufacturing knowledge, and pursuit of continuous process improvements.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in mechanical, Aerospace, or related Engineering discipline
- Extensive experience (10+ years preferred) in mechanical design and manufacturing environments, particularly in aerospace applications and MGSE
- CAD proficiency, preferably SolidWorks
- Knowledge of spacecraft/satellites manufacturing processes and quality management systems
- Familiarity with SAP and other supervision systems considered a plus
- Proficient in structural analysis via hand calculations and FEM methods
- Strong organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills
- Excellent communication skills across organizational levels
- U.S. Citizenship required
- Eligibility to obtain U.S. Government SECRET level security clearance
