Job Summary
Senior Engineer for Load Interconnection & Model Development responsible for expanding Crusoe’s energy infrastructure via grid integration studies for large-load facilities, defining Points of Interconnection (POIs) to align with regulatory requirements, and supporting technical specifications and business development. Requires a Master’s degree in Power Systems with 3+ years of experience (or a Bachelor’s degree with 7+ years), expertise in grid planning, modeling, and grid code compliance, familiarity with MISO/SPP topology and ISO/RTO navigation, experience with PowerWorld, ETAP, TSAT, or ASPEN OneLiner, and programming skills in R or Python. Responsibilities include conducting grid integration studies, managing transmission injection and load deliverability, and collaborating across teams to advance project proposals.
Required Qualifications
- Master’s degree in Power Systems with 3+ years of experience, or Bachelor’s degree with 7+ years of experience in Power Systems
- Deep experience in grid planning, system modeling, and grid code compliance studies
- Strong working knowledge of MISO/SPP transmission topology and load interconnection methodologies
- Ability to identify POIs that offer the best interconnection path for large-scale loads
- Experience with power system simulation tools: PowerWorld Simulator, ETAP, TSAT, ASPEN OneLiner
- Working knowledge of scripting languages such as R or Python for data analysis and automation
- Excellent technical report writing and verbal communication skills
- Bonus points: experience with other ISO/RTO markets (CAISO, ERCOT, WECC, SERC)
