Job Summary
Senior Water/Wastewater Engineer to lead the design, coordination, and oversight of complex water and wastewater infrastructure projects in Lumos & Associates’ Northern California service area. The role combines advanced technical execution with team leadership, client engagement, and business development. Responsibilities include directing the project design team in responsible charge, developing schedules and budgets, coaching and mentoring staff, performing QA/QC reviews, producing final civil design drawings (CAD/Civil 3D) and associated reports, guiding hazard analyses and cost estimates, and conducting field visits. The position requires strong technical judgment, collaboration with the Group Manager, and ability to deliver high-quality engineering solutions for water distribution systems, sanitary sewer collection systems, booster pump/lift stations, storage facilities, master planning, hydraulic modeling, and treatment facilities. Key skills include communication, project management, budgeting, leadership, CAD/Civil 3D proficiency, and a track record of delivering technically sound projects in a client-focused environment.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in civil or environmental engineering
- California P.E. license (or ability to obtain within 6 months)
- 6+ years of progressive water/wastewater design experience
- Advanced proficiency in AutoCAD Civil 3D
- Experience supervising and mentoring staff
- Valid driver’s license and driving record with 3 or fewer demerit points
