Job Summary
Senior Mechanical Design Engineer responsible for electromechanical product design and development in compliance with UL, IEEE and NEMA standards. Role requires deep expertise in mechanical design, plastics and sheet metal components, GD&T, DFMA, FMEA, and 3D modeling using Autodesk Inventor. Will collaborate with US product engineering teams, create drawings and assemblies, select materials, and ensure project execution within schedules. Must demonstrate leadership, effective communication, and stakeholder management, and have hands-on experience with design tools (Autodesk Inventor, AutoCAD, Autodesk Vault, SolidWorks a plus) and familiarity with FMEA/VA/VE and DFMA methodologies.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor of Engineering in Mechanical
- 8+ years of experience in mechanical product design and development
- Knowledge of UL, IEEE, and ANSI standards
- Good knowledge of GD&T and tolerance stack-up
- Experience in electromechanical product design
- Hands-on experience with Autodesk Inventor, AutoCAD, Autodesk Vault, SolidWorks (added advantage)
- Strong communication skills (oral & written)
- Ability to interact with US engineers and act as technical interface
- Knowledge of 3D modeling and assembly using Autodesk Inventor
- Experience in the manufacturing industry / Should Costing is an added advantage
- Knowledge of DFMEA, VA/VE, and DFMA methodologies
- Proficiency in 2D drawings and 3D modeling
