Job Summary
Senior Electrical Engineer II leading complex electrical/I&C projects at a power plant. Provides engineering services to improve reliability, efficiency, safety, and environmental compliance; plans and executes capital projects; reviews designs and calculations; coordinates cross-functional teams, vendors, and contractors; ensures compliance with codes and standards; supports safety and environmental programs.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering (ABET Accredited) required
- Professional Engineer (PE) registration preferred
- At least 8 years of progressively responsible professional engineering experience in large power plants
- Experience with electrical and instrumentation and control systems design, construction, operation, and maintenance
- Development of detailed engineering specifications and budget estimates
- Knowledge of codes and standards for power generation facilities
- Ability to review technical drawings and calculations and provide engineering direction
- Experience leading cross-functional teams and managing capital/major expense projects
- Proficiency in project planning and coordination, risk assessment, and vendor coordination
- Commitment to safety (OSHA) and environmental regulations
- Strong communication and documentation skills
- Ability to mentor junior engineers
- Experience with NERC compliance programs
- Ability to supervise contractors and ensure construction aligns with drawings and specs
- Detail-oriented with multi-tasking capability
