Job Summary
Senior Engineer I responsible for electrical design and reviewing written specifications for building power, indoor/outdoor lighting, and fire alarm systems. Responsibilities include reviewing design drawings/documents and shop drawings for quality and accuracy, assisting with development of designers and CAD/BIM technicians, coordinating with clients, contractors, code officials and suppliers, and performing field observation and construction administration with some overnight travel. Proficiency in applying National, State, and Local Electrical codes to multiple project types; perform short-circuit and arc-flash calculations; provide direct contact with stakeholders over the phone and in person; supervise junior engineers, designers, and BIM/CAD technicians as needed. Requires BS in Electrical Engineering, PE license, minimum 5 years of experience in building electrical/lighting design, AutoCAD proficiency, and exposure to BIM; strong communication and teamwork skills; flexible, hybrid work environment.
Required Qualifications
- BS Degree in Electrical Engineering from an ABET accredited university
- PE (Professional Engineering License) in Electrical
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in the design of building electrical and lighting systems
- Autocad proficiency and some exposure/experience with BIM is preferred
- Strong electrical analytical, technical, problem solving, and application skills
- Good communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work in a team environment and as an individual
- Strong self-initiative and ability to self-direct
