Job Summary
Senior Engineer I, Metrology in ASM’s Korea R&D lab focusing on advanced metrology for semiconductor materials and processes. Responsible for operating and optimizing TEM and FIB tools, analyzing samples, developing metrology recipes and production-ready applications, collaborating with process engineers to guide data-driven decisions, troubleshooting hardware/software issues with vendors, ensuring tool uptime, maintaining LEAN 6S standards, developing new analytical methods aligned with the technology roadmap (including ALD and Epitaxy), training engineers, and staying current with metrology innovations. Requires a Master’s or PhD in a related field and 3+ years of hands-on TEM/FIB experience, plus strong data analysis, cross-functional collaboration, and bilingual communication in Korean and English.
Required Qualifications
- Master’s or Ph.D. degree in Materials Science, Physics, Chemistry, or a related engineering discipline
- Minimum 3 years of hands-on experience operating TEM and/or FIB tools for semiconductor materials or devices
- Solid understanding of semiconductor processing and device fabrication
- Hands-on experience with metrology techniques (XRR, XRD, XRF, TXRF, FTIR, SPV, four-point probe, Hall effect, defect inspection tools) is a plus
- Strong data analysis and problem-solving skills
- Experience with SPC data monitoring and equipment performance analytics preferred
- Proficiency in MS Office; experience with data analysis tools (e.g., JMP) is a plus
- Strong communication skills in Korean and English
- Ability to work independently while managing multiple tasks in a dynamic R&D environment
