Job Summary
Lead fire engineering designs across projects from concept through construction close-out, conducting hazard analyses, risk assessments, and performance-based design studies. Develop and review fire protection strategies, smoke management, and evacuation plans while designing suppression, detection, and alarm systems. Ensure compliance with UAE Fire and Life Safety Regulations and Civil Defence requirements by preparing calculations, drawings, and tender documentation. Support verification, commissioning, and on-site inspections, then mentor junior engineers and coordinate multi-disciplinary teams. Engage with clients and Authorities Having Jurisdiction to secure approvals and certifications. This role supports business development with technical proposals and requires prior UAE experience, a bachelor's in Fire Engineering, and 10+ years of professional experience.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Fire Engineering from an accredited university
- Minimum of 10 years of professional experience in fire protection engineering
- Explicit Fire and Life Safety (FS&LS) design experience
- Experience in high rise and complex building projects
- Prior UAE experience
- Strong knowledge of UAE Fire and Life Safety Regulations
- Strong knowledge of UAE Civil Defence requirements
- Knowledge of international standards (NFPA, BS, EN, NFPA 92, NFPA 13/25/72, Eurocodes, etc.)
- Relevant professional registration or licensure recognized in India and the UAE
- Membership in recognized professional bodies (e.g., Society of Fire Protection Engineers, NFPA, IFE, or similar)
- Certifications in fire protection design and safety analysis (e.g., Certified Fire Protection Specialist, Fire Protection Engineer certification, or recognized equivalents)
- Valid driving license
- Excellent command of English (verbal and written)
- Eligibility for security clearance or compliance with local employment and residency requirements as needed
- Willingness to work from India with periodic travel to UAE for site visits and client meetings as required
Desired Qualifications
- Experience with performance-based design approaches and fire modeling (CFD/fire modeling)
- Fire protection designs and fire modeling (CFD/FS)
- Proven track record on large-scale residential, commercial, mixed-use, hospitality, high rise or critical facilities projects
