Senior Engineer, Facilities & Utilities

Job Summary

Oversee factory support systems including DIW, nitrogen, air, exhaust, chillers, and boilers by leading troubleshooting efforts, monitoring trend data, and conducting SPC reviews. Drive a "Safety First" culture through equipment, process, and behavioral audits, while leading medium-sized capital projects to expand factory capacity and reduce unplanned downtimes. Perform facility modifications using the management of change process, assist in developing long-term plans and conceptual designs, and manage contractor services and costs. Create and standardize documentation such as P&IDs, process flow diagrams, and work instructions for facility technicians.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor or Master of Science in Chemical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering or similar
  • Professional Engineering (PE) certification
  • 4+ years of experience in operations, utilities, project execution, and continuous improvement of equipment that supports chemical purification and/or packaging
  • Demonstrated leadership ability to drive cross-functional project execution and problem solving while maintaining positive/collaborative working relationships
  • Experience with PFDs, P&IDs, Control Logic Diagrams, Instrumentation Selection, and Valve and Line Sizing
  • Experience with FMEA/PHA or other risk assessment tools
  • Ability to present technical data to all levels of the organization
  • Ability to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds and wear PPE as necessary
  • Ability to travel domestically and/or internationally in support of various engineering projects (<5%)

Desired Qualifications

  • Bachelor or Master of Science in Chemical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering or similar
  • Professional Engineering (PE) certification
  • Experience with SPC, ISO quality standards, management-of-change for product/process control, chemical compatibility studies
  • Familiarity with handling hazardous materials
  • Experience with AutoCAD/Solidworks or similar
  • Boiler, tank and utility system process design experience
  • Tenacity to drive projects to completion to deliver world class performance in a timely manner
  • Professionalism, integrity and high degree of accountability
  • Ability to collaborate with individuals at all levels and functional groups within the organization
  • Drive to create new solutions and inspire others – Influence positive change
