Job Summary
Lead the design and development of embedded software solutions for next-generation automotive safety and connectivity products, including low-power wireless protocol stacks, microcontroller drivers, sensor networks, and radio transceiver firmware. Design robust, scalable architectures for ARM-based microcontrollers and SoCs, focusing on real-time systems, interrupt-driven architectures, and resource-constrained environments. Deliver production-quality firmware from concept to production while mentoring engineers, performing code reviews, and driving technical investigations across software, hardware, and validation teams. This role involves 10% travel and requires a Bachelor's or Master's degree in computer engineering with 5+ years of embedded software experience.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's or master's degree in computer engineering, embedded systems engineering, electronic engineering, computer science, or a related discipline
- 5+ years of embedded software development experience
- Demonstrated success delivering complex embedded software products from concept to production
- Experience leading technical projects and collaborating with multidisciplinary teams
- Expert-level C programming skills with strong knowledge of embedded software design principles
- Experience developing production-quality firmware for ARM-based microcontrollers and SoCs
- Strong understanding of real-time embedded systems, interrupt-driven architectures, and low-level hardware interfaces
- Experience developing and debugging device drivers and hardware abstraction layers
- Experience developing software for resource-constrained embedded environments
- Ability to design robust, scalable, and maintainable embedded software architectures
- Strong understanding of software design patterns, modular software design, and system integration
- Ability to analyse performance, memory usage, power consumption, and system reliability
- Proficiency with compilers, debuggers, IDEs, and embedded development toolchains
- Experience with Git and collaborative software development workflows
- Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines, automated testing, and software quality processes
- Knowledge of scripting languages, such as Python or Bash, for automation, test and tooling
- Ability to lead technical investigations and drive solutions to complex engineering problems
- Experience mentoring junior engineers and performing code reviews
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Strong team player who can work effectively across software, hardware, validation, and systems engineering teams
