Job Summary
Senior Electrical Engineer leads design, development, modification and evaluation of electrical systems for medium to large EPC/EPCM projects. Responsibilities include evaluating and applying standard electrical engineering methods, preparing conceptual studies and design documentation, coordinating efforts with clients, vendors, and construction teams, mentoring junior engineers, and supporting procurement activities. Required expertise includes ETAP/DIgSilent PowerFactory, MV/LV switchgear and related electrical equipment, 3D model reviews, and participation in risk assessments and hazard studies (HAZOP/HAZiD/HASECiD). A bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering and 8-10 years of relevant experience (or 12-14 years) are expected; telework is part-time with at least three days of in-person attendance per week at the assigned office/project in Brisbane, Australia.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering (or international equivalent)
- 8-10 years of relevant experience or 12-14 years of relevant work experience
- Experience in FEED, proposal & detailed engineering preferably in an EPC industry for large industrial plants, power projects, utilities, oil and gas plants
- Knowledge of electrical system studies using ETAP/DIgSilent PowerFactory software
- Experience in preparation of single line diagrams, schematics, load lists, MV and LV cable calculations, cable schedules, equipment lists, and material take offs
- Experience with equipment sizing, specifications, MRR preparation, technical bid evaluation and vendor print reviews
- Experience with 3D model reviews at 30%, 60%, 90%
- Ability to participate in risk assessments and hazard studies including HSECiD, HSECiC, HAZiD and HAZOPs
- Conversations with electrical layouts including routing, equipment, lighting, grounding & lightning protection, substation layouts
