Job Summary
Create 3D product models, outlines, and layout drawings in Siemens NX, including solid model piece parts and housings. Work with engineering staff to produce 2D concept designs and dimensioned detail component drawings for high complexity assemblies. Manage Bill of Materials, apply tolerance stack-up analysis results, and ensure correct fit and alignment. Lead detailing drafters in completing component drawings, guiding them on GD&T, standard features, and manufacturing methodology. Check all drawings for accuracy and compliance with company and industry standards while ensuring proper filing and export classification of design data. Support interface with Structures groups to provide necessary physical product definitions for stress, thermal, and dynamic analyses.
Required Qualifications
- Ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government issued security clearance
- U.S. citizenship
- Active and existing security clearance
- Degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM)
- Minimum 5 years prior relevant experience
- Advanced Degree in a related field
- Minimum 3 years of experience (if holding an Advanced Degree)
- Proven experience in 3D mechanical design and drafting
- Experience in the development of complex assemblies
- Strong understanding of GD&T and ANSI Y14.5M standards
- Working proficiency in drafting practices
- Working proficiency in PLM tools
- Working proficiency in general computer applications
- Less than 10% travel
- Onsite work location
Desired Qualifications
- Strong knowledge of mechanical and manufacturing principles
- Demonstrated ability to read and interpret models, assembly drawings, and detailed part prints
- Proficiency with Siemens NX
- Proficiency with Teamcenter
- Experience in design of rotating machines
- Experience with additional CAD platforms
- Manufacturing background and experience
- Familiarity with Model-Based Definition (MBD)
- Familiarity with Additive Manufacturing
