Job Summary
Senior Engineer in WD's Quality organization responsible for validating and characterizing WD products in customer system environments. Develop, maintain, and improve test infrastructure and methods; execute product validation throughout the product lifecycle; support failure analysis for qualification and field issues; collect and summarize test data; report risks and issues; collaborate with cross-functional teams to share learnings and best practices; drive continuous improvement of validation processes, test efficiency, and product quality. Requires a Bachelor’s degree in Electronics Engineering, Computer Science, Mechatronics Engineering, Automation, Communication Engineering, or related field, and 0–2 years of relevant system/hardware/storage testing experience; familiarity with SATA/SAS protocols, storage interface technologies, HDD products, and scripting (Shell, Python) for test support and data analysis; strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and effective communication in cross-functional settings.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree or above in Electronics Engineering, Computer Science, Mechatronics Engineering, Automation, Communication Engineering, or related technical field
- 0–2 years of relevant experience in system testing, server testing, hardware testing, storage product testing, or related areas is preferred
- Basic scripting skills in Shell, Python, or other scripting languages
- Interest in HDD products, storage technologies, quality validation, and customer system integration testing
