Senior Engineer - Construction Management

Job Summary
Supervise engineering staff in the development, design, construction, and maintenance of principal public works projects. Review design plans, project specifications, and cost estimates; identify design problems; and approve plans for construction contracts. Develop policies and programs to improve division efficiency, manage the section budget, and evaluate consultant fee proposals. Advise other City departments on technical engineering issues and provide information to the City Council or the public regarding concerns. Approve compensation for professional engineering services, analyze bid results, and make recommendations on accepting or rejecting bids. Provide legal testimony as required. Work primarily in an office environment under administrative direction, exercising direct supervision over assigned staff.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Engineering from an accredited college, university or engineering school approved by a State Board of Registration for Professional Engineers
- Six (6) years' experience in engineering
- Licensed to practice engineering in the State of Texas as a Professional Engineer OR Licensed Professional Engineer (P.E.) from another state with the ability to obtain a P.E. license in the State of Texas within 6 months of employment
- Valid Class "C" Texas Driver's License

- Minimum five (5) years' experience managing design and construction projects
