Job Summary
Senior Storage Engineer (Ceph) responsible for designing, building, and operating a highly scalable, resilient storage layer across global data centers. Collaborates across teams, mentors junior engineers, and drives automation (logging, monitoring, maintenance). Works with technologies including Ceph, Rook, Hadoop, Spark, Aerospike, Kafka, and IaC toolchains (Salt, Ansible, Puppet, Terraform) to enhance and optimize storage systems, with emphasis on scalability, security design, and production reliability.
Required Qualifications
- Experience with building, maintaining and troubleshooting open-source distributed storage solutions such as Ceph and storage orchestrators such as Rook
- Experience with IaC and configuration management tools such as Salt, Ansible, Puppet or Terraform
- Experience with storage level replication technologies
- Strong experience with capacity planning, disaster recovery and monitoring
- Ability to design, build and operate a scalable, performant storage layer for global-scale systems
- Ability to mentor junior teammates
- Familiarity with Hadoop, Spark, Aerospike, Kafka (or similar tech) per the role description
- Proven ability to work across cross-functional teams and influence technical direction
