Senior Engineer - Building Civils, Data Centers

Job Summary
Lead a design team of junior and mid-level Building Civils staff, providing daily mentorship and direction to ensure coordinated design deliverables across stormwater, water, sewerage, and bulk earthworks projects. Conduct detailed engineering assignments involving calculations, drawings, and reports while independently performing all tasks necessary to complete design works. Guide junior engineers through technical reviews and audits to ensure compliance with project requirements and company objectives. Interface with clients on schedules, meetings, and issues to manage expectations and develop specialized technical solutions. Support business development initiatives by participating in major bids and proposals. Attend planning, design, and site meetings, including ad-hoc site inspections, while maintaining strict adherence to Health, Safety, and Environmental policies.
Required Qualifications
- 4-year degree in Civil Engineering (Civil)
- preferably M. Eng or MSc. Eng.
- At least 8 years' post qualification experience
- Professionally registered with ECSA as Pr.Eng. (Civil) for at least 3 years
- Ability to develop key and trusted client relationships that can lead to new business
- Demonstrated collaborative skills, both internally and externally
- Ability to advise on complex matters to non-specialists
- Superior interpersonal and communication skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to work under pressure and understand the importance of delivery and client satisfaction
- Strong analytical, literacy and numerical skills
- Ability to function with minimal supervision
- Ability to delegate tasks and effectively supervise others
- Attention to detail
