Job Summary
Senior Engineer, Body and Safety Systems Testing at Scout Motors. Lead safety strategy initiatives and signoff planning for vehicle safety, crash analysis, and test planning across body structures and safety systems. Drive cross-functional alignment, track vehicle and component test plans, identify worst-case variants, and ensure timely execution of sled and CAE signoffs. Requires a Master’s degree in mechanical or systems engineering and 8-10 years of experience in vehicle safety systems; role is based in Charlotte, NC or Novi, MI with 4-5 days in the office and occasional travel.
Required Qualifications
- Master’s degree in mechanical engineering, systems engineering, or a related technical field
- 8-10 years of experience in developing and integrating vehicle safety systems, body structures and occupant protection systems
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Strong understanding of vehicle safety principles, regulations, and standards
- Strong technical skills and expertise in Vehicle Safety employing a 1st Principles approach to problem-solving
- Familiarity with computer aided engineering (CAE) or direct experience in this field
- Ability to build strong working relationships with individuals at all organization levels
