Job Summary
Senior Engineer (18-Month Leased Labor) in Audio Machine Learning at Huawei Munich Research Center. Develop and optimize innovative audio ML technologies (e.g., acoustic/multimodal scene classification), design/train/validate lightweight models for embedded hardware, perform literature analysis to identify promising AI audio technologies, and contribute within an international research team. Requires Master’s or Doctoral degree in CS/EE/Signal Processing, strong deep learning expertise, experience with PyTorch or TensorFlow, knowledge of model compression techniques, Python proficiency (C/C++ a plus), and strong English communication skills.
Required Qualifications
- Master’s degree or Doctoral degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Signal Processing, or a related field
- Strong theoretical knowledge and practical experience in deep learning
- Familiarity with audio signal processing is a plus
- Hands-on experience with machine learning frameworks such as PyTorch or TensorFlow
- Familiarity with model compression techniques (e.g., pruning, quantization, knowledge distillation) is a significant advantage
- Programming proficiency in Python is a must
- Experience with programming embedded AI systems (e.g., C/C++) is a plus
- Research-oriented mindset with curiosity and hands-on solving complex problems
- Excellent written and spoken English communication skills, and ability to work in an international environment
