Job Summary
Senior Energy Underwriter who develops and negotiates pricing, coverage, and terms for new business and renewals in commercial construction and builder’s risk contexts. Candidate has 5+ years in commercial underwriting, strong sales/marketing capabilities to position accounts and close deals, and a solid background in risk analysis with construction/casualty underwriting. Must demonstrate teamwork, exceptional interpersonal and communication skills, negotiation proficiency, and adaptability in a fast-paced startup environment. Role emphasizes marketing, producer management, and new business development, with internal and external partnership negotiation to optimize underwriting decisions and process efficiency.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum of 5+ years of experience in commercial underwriting (Construction, Casualty, Builder's Risk preferred)
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience
- Strong interpersonal skills (verbal and written) and high EQ
- Strong sales and marketing skills and ability to position accounts and close deals
- Ability to develop and negotiate price, coverage, terms and conditions for new business and renewals
- Experience with risk analysis and knowledge of construction and/or casualty underwriting
- Knowledge of compliance, coverage, products and pricing strategies
- Ability to work in a fast-paced startup environment
- Teamwork, communication, and negotiation skills
