Senior Energy Market Analyst

Job Summary
Lead technical discussions and provide strategic modeling insights to clients while developing and validating complex optimization models tailored to their needs. Conduct in-depth research on policy impacts, market developments, and emerging technologies to articulate the value proposition within the marketplace. Manage project lifecycles from scoping to delivery, ensuring customer success through close collaboration with the product development team. Guide junior analysts and provide mentorship in modeling best practices while identifying relevant customer use cases to support go-to-market strategy. Engage directly with both potential and existing clients to increase sales and deliver technical work across the APAC region.
Required Qualifications
- Master's degree or equivalent in a relevant field
- 5+ years of experience in energy market modeling, forecasting, or optimization
- Extensive experience in PLEXOS or similar optimization software
- Strong leadership, project management, and stakeholder engagement skills
- Thorough knowledge of standard Microsoft programs – Word, Excel, PowerPoint
Desired Qualifications
- Deep knowledge of energy markets & associated economics
- Expertise in model setup, custom configurations, and troubleshooting
- Experience in scripting, automation, and integrating market datasets
- Project management experience, with the ability to lead and manage energy market modelling and implementation projects across the full project lifecycle, including scoping, planning, stakeholder coordination, delivery, and successful project completion
- Ability to communicate complex subject matter in an easy to understand manner
- Strong commercial awareness
- Top down approach to problem solving – ability to see the big picture
- Strong interpersonal presence and skills - demonstrated ability to build rapport
