Job Summary
Lead first-chair counsel on high-stakes regulatory matters before the Maryland Public Service Commission, including CPCN permitting for solar, battery storage, and fossil fuel projects, utility rate cases, and legislative rulemakings. Manage cutting-edge issues involving interconnection, community solar, and net energy metering while representing developers and investors in consequential energy transition projects. Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to shape the state's public utility future. This role offers substantial client contact and first-chair responsibility in contested proceedings within Maryland's rapidly evolving energy landscape.
Required Qualifications
- First-chair experience in contested regulatory, administrative, or judicial proceedings
- Maryland barred or eligible to waive into the Maryland bar
- Significant experience in energy, environment, and public utility law, ideally 6+ years
- Experience appearing before the Maryland Public Service Commission
