Job Summary
Contribute to the production of energy statistics by collecting, validating, and disseminating data for OECD and non-OECD members using questionnaires, web-scraping, and data science techniques. Develop advanced analytical models, derive indicators for global energy markets, and maintain statistical databases while ensuring international comparability. Guide junior staff on data tasks, train new recruits on methodologies, and produce analytical publications and reports. Collaborate with international organizations and external users to promote the Agency's work through workshops and bilateral meetings. This 13-month fixed-term role supports the IEA's modernization strategy and policy priorities.
Required Qualifications
- A university degree in fields relevant for energy data, i.e. statistics, data science, economics, mathematics, computer science, information technology, engineering, physics, environmental studies
- At least two years to three years of experience in the production and/or use of data or statistics gained in the private sector, university, public research institutes, national administrations or international organisations
- General knowledge of statistical concepts and applied data analysis techniques
- Fluency in one of the two OECD official languages (English and French) and knowledge of the other, with a commitment to reach a good working level

Desired Qualifications
- A postgraduate degree in one of these fields
- Professional experience and knowledge of the energy field
- Strong communication skills, including capacity to present technical content to non-technical audiences
- Experience performing data processing and analysis using programming languages such as Python, R, and Matlab
- Proficiency in Pyhton
- Experience in developing visuals with business intelligence software, such as but not limited to Power BI, Tableau, Looker, or Plotly/Dash
- Experience in using Microsoft Office software, especially Excel and Visual Basic
- Managing data with SQL
- Knowledge of other languages
