Job Summary
Senior Energy Assurance Engineer to support the development and technical evaluation of cost-effective energy resilience solutions for Department of the Air Force installations. Lead coordination with installation energy managers and project stakeholders to define resilience objectives and develop acquisition-ready documentation. Assess distributed energy technologies, including distributed energy resources (DER), battery storage, and microgrids, for their technical, economic, and operational feasibility. Applying engineering expertise, evaluate mission assurance impacts, interconnection strategies, and regulatory or contractual constraints. The position also supports federal grant applications, advises on utility engagement strategies, and contributes to energy resilience training for Air Force personnel. This position is based in Panama City, FL and requires United States citizenship with a background check; active DoD security clearance is required.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering
- Minimum 8 years of engineering experience with emphasis on technical evaluation of electrical systems, renewable energy integration, and installation-level resilience planning
- Familiarity with Air Force energy programs, policies, and acquisition processes
- Demonstrated expertise in evaluating distributed energy resources (DER), electrical distribution systems, and resilience-focused power strategies
- Experience supporting utility contracting, rate analysis, and performance validation of clean energy systems
- Proficiency with BLCC, EnergyPlus, Simergy, Microsoft Office, Adobe Acrobat, and SharePoint
- U.S. citizenship and an active DoD Secret security clearance is required
- Candidates without an active clearance may be considered on a case-by-case basis; however, any offer will be contingent upon interim Secret clearance
