Job Summary
Senior Employment Tax and Payroll Analyst responsible for accurate, compliant multi-entity payroll processing aligned with IRS regulations (FICA, fringe benefits taxability), including semi-monthly/bi-weekly payroll, W‐2 reconciliations, imputed income, shadow payroll for foreign assignments, and audits. The role involves researching payroll tax law changes, maintaining payroll records, supporting system configurations (ADP/Workday), and collaborating with HR, Finance, and Accounting to ensure timely payroll updates and regulatory compliance. Requires a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting/Finance/Tax and 6 years of relevant employment tax experience; proficiency in Excel and payroll platforms; strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills; willingness to work with UTC+8 headquarters when needed; Mandarin proficiency a plus; and ability to meet deadlines.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Tax, or related field
- 6 years’ experience in employment tax, global mobility tax, expatriate tax, or international individual income tax
- Strong ability to research IRS regulations related to individual income tax and employment tax
- Comprehensive knowledge of U.S. tax residency rules and implications for payroll reporting for employees on assignment
- Expertise in payroll functions, including preparation, balancing, internal controls, and payroll taxes
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel
- Strong computer skills and ability to work with payroll platforms such as ADP, Workday, or similar systems
- Outstanding customer service orientation with responsiveness and ownership of tasks through completion
- Strong analytical and numerical skills with meticulous attention to accuracy
- Excellent organizational skills and ability to handle multiple priorities
- Solid understanding of accounting fundamentals
- Strong problem-solving skills with ability to develop effective solutions
- Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams (HR, Finance, Accounting)
- Effective written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to work with Headquarters in UTC+8 time zone when necessary; Mandarin proficiency a plus
- Flexibility to meet tight deadlines, including during holiday schedules
