Job Summary
As a Senior Employee Relations Advisor, you will provide advanced guidance on employee relations matters, advising on documentation and processes for legal claims, and ensuring HR compliance. Responsibilities include managing employee concerns, leading legal activities, monitoring legal claims, and maintaining HR risk registers. You will collaborate closely with HR Business Partners and leadership, develop and interpret HR policies, and provide support and training on workplace issues. Required qualifications include a Bachelor’s degree in law or Juris Doctor, at least 6 years of experience in a senior employee relations role, and strong knowledge of employment laws.
Required Qualifications
- 6+ years’ experience in a senior Employee Relations role
- in depth knowledge of employment laws and regulations
- Bachelor’s degree in law or Juris Doctor required
Desired Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree or post-secondary focus on HR, Labour Relations, or Business is an asset
- Experience supporting multi-jurisdictional operations (Canada and U.S.)
- In-depth understanding of regional legal and compliance differences
- Foundational legal training in employment standards and labour relations
- Knowledge of human rights and anti-discrimination legislation
- Subject matter expertise in Employee Relations claims management
- Experience developing and applying HR policies
- Proven ability to advise on complex ER and compliance matters
