Job Summary
Diagnose and fix live EMC compliance failures on PoE ports for outdoor wireless radio products, directly impacting the current certification cycle. Analyze failure plots to identify root causes and redesign isolated PoE PD converters compliant with IEEE 802.3bt Type 3 or 4. Tune magnetics including flyback transformers, common-mode chokes, and isolation barriers while optimizing PCB layout for grounding and filter placement. Reduce conducted emissions on telecom ports per CISPR 32 and EN 55032 standards using ISN, then guide the product through full EMC certification including retests. Collaborate closely with hardware, RF, and compliance teams to implement fixes rapidly. This hands-on design role supports Atheer ACT's development of carrier-grade 60 GHz and mmWave wireless infrastructure for high-throughput backhaul and enterprise connectivity.
Required Qualifications
- 8+ years of experience designing PoE power stages, solving EMC failures, and shipping telecom or networking hardware through certification
- Bachelor's degree or higher in Electrical Engineering, Electronics, or a related field; equivalent hands-on design experience will be considered equally
- Isolated PoE PD converter design compliant with IEEE 802.3bt Type 3 or Type 4
- Flyback topology design and transformer construction
- Common-mode choke selection under DC bias
- CISPR 32 / EN 55032 conducted emissions testing on telecom ports using ISN
- PCB layout for EMC performance, including grounding, isolation, and filter placement
Desired Qualifications
- mmWave / 60 GHz / IEEE 802.11ad/ay wireless product experience
- 10GBASE-T PHY experience
- Radiated emissions and immunity testing for outdoor equipment, including ESD and surge
- Open to onsite or hybrid work arrangements
